10 Tips Before Seeking Intuitive Counsel

Spiritual Teachings

toptenConsider the following 10 tips before seeking information from an intuitive counselor, channel, clairvoyant, psychic, medium, healer or any combination thereof.

1.    Clear Intentions. Acknowledge your reasons for seeking outside counsel. Are you asking for advice or approval? Are you seeking knowledge about an issue or information on healing? Are you seeking external validation or support? Knowing why will enable you to ask the right questions. Consider writing a list of questions to help you stay focused.

2.    Like Attracts Like. Apply the same care as you would in selecting a medical doctor to finding an intuitive that specializes in the field of interest. One who communicates effectively and utilizes language you understand. How do you want to receive information, in a matter of fact manner or dialogue?

3.    No One Is Conflict Free. Every person on this planet is attending earth school to learn. Knowing bias exists within the metaphysical community enables you to discern the information more clearly. Professionals will admit to bias when their statements are not free from personal opinion, others will not. You must learn to know the difference.

4.    Consider the Price.
Price is an arbitrary decision based upon personal and professional desires. For example, a one-hour session might differ from just under $60 to $800 plus. Supply and demand can also factor into the price. Specialists and well-known members of the metaphysical community typically charge more based on supply and demand principals. Nevertheless, price does not determine the value. Value is subjective based upon the benefits you perceive or receive.

5.    Be Resourceful. Read, listen, and educate yourself about the person you are considering. Pay attention to what they are saying to their audience as it indicates what they will convey to you. Many often repeat messages, themes, and stories.

6.    Stick to Business. If you did not ask, an intuitive should not offer additional information. No one has the right to ignore energetic boundaries even if they think the information is crucial to your well-being.  Client permission is required.

7.    Expand Your Spiritual Network. Clients may seek out an intuitive for friendship especially those isolated from a spiritual community. Just as co-workers become friends, friendship may develop between client and intuitive - it happens. To offset the potential situation, expand your spiritual network to include interactive Internet radio, forums for web-based magazines, and social networking sites, where you will find diverse spiritual groups exchanging information. Get involved and connect on-line if your neighborhood lacks like-minded community.

8.    Keep It In Perspective. When you seek counsel from someone outside of yourself, you are inviting in opinion. What is right for others, may not be right for you. If the information does not feel right, it probably is not the right advice for you. Keep what works and leave what does not behind. Remember, information received from another is debatable and should not replace your sense of judgment.

9.    Be Aware of Cons & Scams. An intuitive con who "uses" their ability to read your energy and act as if they "know you better than anyone else" is attempting to disarm you with their confidence and skill in order to profit. Cons present themselves as an authority for truth, wisdom, and knowledge.  Con's take you out of the present moment and into schemes by asking you to "act now" or purchase a "limited-time only deal.  Anyone who requires you to buy or invest in order to be cured or relieved of curses is a con. Statements such as "trust me" or "your in" are words of persuasion and often reflect a marketing scam. Symptoms of a scam are increasing doubt and second-guessing oneself. Learn to recognize fear based advice that distorts your ability to know and trust your own truth.  Remember, no one else can live your life for you. You must make your own choices.

10.    Stay In Your Power. Invite your inner wisdom to reveal itself in ways that you will recognize before seeking outside counsel. You are responsible for your life, and the choices you make should reflect wisdom gained by personal awareness not because someone told you. Be willing to stand in your power.

Evolve Vision

evolve_visionImagine a world where money was no longer the means of exchange of services but rather love and enthusiasm as its primary exchange. A world full of love and so much diversity that each individual’s enthusiasm became the driving force behind one’s life work and one’s life work was as distinctive as one’s own fingerprint. A world where every job and every service had its own caretaker that performed its tasks with so much love and care they freely wanted to giveaway these services. Tell me? What would this world look like? A world of harmony and service where all needs were met and provided by someone that was just as equally grateful to give as well as they were ready to receive. A world of haves without the not’s. A world of abundance without the lack. A world of love without the suffering. Can you imagine this?
