monday february 8th-
the moon is in expansive, adventurous, freedom-loving sagittarius all day long and goes void of course at 8:58pm PST for just under 6 hours (into tuesday morning).  void moons are times to go within and connect to the Divine Feminine.  pay attention to your dreams tonight as dreams can be more potent during moon voids.  sagittarius moons are times of restlessness, change and motion. it is a time to expand your mind, learn and teach, and travel! be aware of the shadow side of sagittarius- an inability to anchor down and stay put, and a tendency to superficiality.

the only major aspect today occurs at 3:07am when the sun in aquarius semisquares pluto in capricorn, pitting the conscious self and ego against the lord of the underworld.  pluto is intense, deep, passionate and powerful.  in tense aspect to the ego there can be ego conflicts that arise, but also the potential to experience profound transformation within the self.  yesterday (sunday the 7th) the sun tensely aspected saturn and today the sun aspects pluto, which triggers the saturn/pluto square that is currently playing out.  aligning the conscious self and ego with the lessons saturn/pluto is requiring of us and actually taking the steps necessary to do this work is supported at the start of the week.  if you aren't in alignment then conflict and issues can arise whose sole purpose would be to wake you up and get you to grow!  pay attention to your dreams from overnight as they can point to where you still need some illumination in your life. 

tuesday february 9th-
the day starts off with the moon void of course in adventurous, optimistic sagittarius and at 2:43am she moves into serious, disciplined, grounded capricorn. the shift from sagittarius to capricorn is from fire to earth, expansion to contraction, restless to focused. capricorn moons are time of concentration, ambition, work and duty. focusing on what needs to be done and getting to it is supported now. be aware of the shadow side of capricorn- pessimism, workaholism, and insensitivity.

the only major aspect today is the sun in aquarius semisextile the north node in capricorn and quincunx the south node in cancer, occurring at 10:52am.  the sun is symbolic of the conscious self and ego and aspecting the nodes our path of destined growth and karmic past come into the picture.  the conscious self is aligned with forward movement and understands the need for discipline, wisdom, maturity and healthy structures in life.  aquarius (where the sun is) is a cerebral, detached sign and capricorn (where the north node is) is grounded, pragmatic and focused.  the south node in cancer points to unhealthy emotional attachments, codependent behavior, and sentimentality that keeps us tethered to the past.  today it is easier to align with what is right and make forward movement on your path. 

wednesday february 10th-
the moon is in realistic, pragmatic, earthy capricorn all day long.

at 1:06am mercury moves out of capricorn, where he has been since december 5th for an extended stay due to his retrograde journey from december 26th 2009 through january 15th 2010, and into aquarius.  the conscious mind and intellect's shift from capricorn to aquarius is from earth to air, body to mind, manifestation to ideas.  mercury in aquarius lightens up communication and thought processing considerably.  social connection, humanitarian concerns, and unique expression of self are all highlighted.  taking what you've realized during the last two months while mercury was in earthy capricorn and moving forward with it is supported now.

retrograde mars in leo quincunxes jupiter in pisces at 1:23am, pitting the conscious will and drive against the planet of expansion and abundance.  mars has been retrograde since december 20th 2009 and will stay that way until march 10th 2010.  mars is the warrior and in leo he is typically firey, assertive, confident and dramatic.  but because he is retrograde his will and drive are constricted and restrained and he is being asked to rein his energy in and reassess how he expresses passion, desire, assertiveness, anger, and ego.  jupiter is the planet that amplifies things and his tense aspect to mars can aggravate mars' passive-aggressive nature.  the best use of this energy is to take jupiter in pisces' spiritual and soulful blessings and channel it inward.  understanding the self is key, and jupiter in pisces can help us do that.  be aware of potential ego conflicts with others if you choose to express this energy outwards instead.  pay attention to your dreams when you wake up in the morning for messages from the unconscious.

at 4:38am venus in aquarius parallels neptune in aquarius, echoing the venus/neptune conjunction that occurred sunday february 7th.  the goddess of love and beauty is aligned with the god of spirituality, mysticism and romance.  this aspect by declination rather than degree bodes well for creativity, love, bliss and fantasy.  just be aware of the shadow expression of venus/neptune- illusion, delusion and deception- from others and from yourself.  again, pay attention to your dreams for messages from the unconscious.

thursday february 11th-
the day starts off with the moon in pragmatic, grounded capricorn and goes void of course at 4:39am for 11 hours.  the long moon void midday aligns us more with the inner realms rather than the outer.  taking time to go within, connect to Self, and introspect is supported now.  at 3:24pm she shifts into eccentric, intellectual aquarius. the shift from capricorn to aquarius is from earth to air, body to mind, convention to unconventional. aquarius moons are social, impersonal and cerebral. this is a time to focus on social causes, humanitarian endeavors, and individuality. be aware of the shadow side of aquarius- the need to be so different that one cannot fit in, and unhealthy disconnection from feeling and emotion.

the only major celestial even today occurs at 4:10am when venus, the goddess of Love and beauty, moves out of aquarius and into pisces.  the Divine Feminine's shift moves from air to water, mind to heart, intellect to emotion.  venus is moving into the sign that both jupiter and uranus occupy, bringing her closer to the greater benefic and the great awakener!  venus in pisces is uber romantic, idealistic, compassionate and sensitive.  on the heels of the two venus/neptune aspects that just occurred (by aspect last sunday and by declination this past wednesday) venus' move into pisces carries the creative, romantic energy forward where she will stay for the next until march 7th.  take advantage of the mystical, spiritual energy and feel the Love!  just be sure to take off those rose colored glasses and see reality as it is, not just as you want it to be. 

friday february 12th-
the moon is in avant garde, humanitarian, forward thinking aquarius all day long.

the first aspect of the day occurs at 4:00am when retrograde mars in leo quincunxes pluto in capricorn, pitting the conscious will and drive against the lord of the underworld.  mars is force and pluto is power and when the two are in tense aspect sparks can fly!  of course mars is currently retrograde so the warrior is introverted, perhaps even wounded and in the process of healing some aspect of his relationship to anger, assertiveness, passion, desire and ego.  with a wounded/healing warrior in tense aspect to the powerful intensity of pluto the best use of the energy is to use pluto's transformative power to die and be reborn into a new expression of the masculine within and without.  pluto helps us die, but if we fight it then the experience can be very destructive.  if you move with it and through it, it can be the most powerful experience of your life.  opting for the latter is ideal ;)  pay attention to your dreams from the night before since this aspect occurs in the wee hours of the morning.

at 5:32am jupiter in pisces semisquares the north node in capricorn and sesquiquadrates the south node in cancer, bringing the planet of expansion and abundance in dynamic aspect with our paths of growth, destiny and karmic past.  jupiter is incredibly spiritual, romantic, and unconditionally loving in pisces.  he wears rose-colored glasses and sees the world as he wants to see it.  this can be in stark contrast with reality though, and in conflict to the earthy, grounded, pragmatic north node in capricorn the disparity between dreams and reality can be felt.  finding a healthy balance between seeing what can be with seeing what is is key.  there is intelligence in seeing life through rose-colored glasses- as our thoughts inform the reality we create for ourselves.  so if you expect roses you will get more roses and if you expect thorns you will get more thorns.  wisdom comes when we can allow roses to bloom and thorns to exist- side by side.  when you can allow them both to coexist and be, without expecting either of them or denying either of them, you attain enlightenment.  this morning jupiter reminds us where we are in the balance and can help us to adjust our expectations and find balance with what is.  again, this aspect occurs in the early morning hours so pay attention to your dreams for significant messages from the unconscious.

the last aspect of the day occurs at 5:34pm when mercury in aquarius trines retrograde saturn in libra, harmoniously aligning the conscious mind and intellect with the planet of stability, structure and maturity.  serious communications can aries that help us understand what is and embrace the all.  when the mind is stable and seeing clearly it is easier for the mind and heart to communicate.  saturn in libra is teaching us valuable lessons about relationship, balance, compromise and connection to the Divine Feminine.  mercury in aquarius is taking our minds outside of 'normal' perception and is helping us to see the bigger picture.  these two together can expand the mind will structuring it and stabilizing it simultaneously.  important conversations and communications had this evening are foundational and lead to insights that can be build upon as your journey progresses.  pay attention to the messages that come in!

the moon starts off in avant garde, unique, cerebral aquarius and then goes void of course at 4:57am for 6 hours. the moon void is a time to honor the Divine Feminine and go within. pay attention to your dreams when you wake up this morning! at 10:43am the moon shifts into mystical, sensitive, compassionate pisces. the shift from aquarius to pisces is from air to water, intellect to emotion, mind to heart. pisces moons are times to connect to intuition, inspiration, imagination and psychic abilities. pisces is unconditionally loving, empathetic and able to feel everything- including stuff that doesn't belong to it- so pay attention to your boundaries. be aware of the shadow side of pisces- oversensitivity, victimization, and turning to addiction in order to deal with sensitivity.

at 2:25am mercury in aquarius opposes retrograde mars in leo, pitting the conscious mind and intellect against the introverted conscious will and drive.  mercury in aquarius is detached, cerebral and analytical.  mars in leo is typically firey, passionate and self-focused but he is retrograde so his full expression is being reigned in and recalibrated.  the aquarius/leo axis is the axis of we versus me, mind versus heart, interdependence and independence.  where we are not in balance between these opposing energies we can experience conflict and discord in our conversations and communications today.  yet these very things can lead to insight if we allow them to reveal to us more than we are currently looking at.  making use of mars' directness and turning it inward so that we are honest, direct and in integrity with ourselves is the best use of this energy.  ego conflicts without can unearth issues- but it all starts within, so going to the Source is recommended. 

at 5:40am the sun in aquarius sextiles juno in aries, aligning the conscious will and ego with the goddess of commitment and marriage.  the sun is an aspect of the Divine Masculine and juno is an aspect of the Divine Feminine, so these two in harmonious connection bring opposites together into Union.  being independent while still being able to connect with passion is the gift of aquarius with aries.  illuminating what you need in partnership with others and with yourSelf is possible this morning. 

at 7:37am the sun in aquarius semisextiles uranus in pisces, bringing the conscious self and ego into contact with the great awakener!  uranus rules the sign of aquarius, so this amplifies the aquarian energy of the day.  growth, enlightenment, aha moments and expanded states of awareness and existence are all possible!  allow for change to infuse your life and go with the flow.  aquarius and pisces are the last two signs in the zodiac and symbolize Unity and Oneness.  being able to experience the All without over-expanding and the One without dissolving into nothingness is the gift of these last two signs.  today you have the potential to bridge both. 

mercury in aquarius semisextiles pluto in capricorn at 7:50am aligning the conscious mind and intellect with the lord of the underworld.  this aspect takes all conversation, communication and thought processing to deeper waters.  pluto illuminates the Soul and mercury is the winged messenger, one of the only gods able to move through the upper and lower worlds.  this aspect allows each of us to move between conscious and unconscious, and glean insights that can expand our experience.  plumb the depths of the psyche and see what gold lies there waiting for you.

at 9:40am uranus in pisces semisextiles juno in aries, aligning the great awakener with the goddess of commitment and marriage.  the sun in aquarius aspected juno this morning and now uranus, the ruler of aquarius, aspects her.  changes, illumination, and sudden openings in relationship can occur.  enlightened partnership is the wave of the future!  being conscious of your Soul's needs versus your ego's wants in connection is key.  uranus in pisces is avant garde and unconditionally loving.  juno in aries is courageous, honest, passionate and fierce.  aligning the omega sign with the alpha sign creates continuity and leads to Union.  when you can take the yin and yang and merge them within you will then see it reflected without.  this aspect helps us wake up to more of what is possible in relationship- with others and with the Self.  the Divine Feminine is an integral part of the balance- be sure to honor her today.

the last aspect of the action-packed morning occurs at 10:12am when the sun in aquarius parallels neptune in aquarius, giving us a precursor to the sun/neptune conjunction that will occur tomorrow (valentine's day).  a parallel is similar to a conjunction only it is by declination rather than aspect.  the conscious self and ego is in full alignment with the planet of spirituality and mysticism this weekend!  romance, idealism, fantasy, compassion, creativity and magic are all afoot!  last weekend when venus aligned with neptune there was a lot of high energy putting us in the love and bliss space.  the heart got recalibrated.  today the ego gets his turn.  channel neptune's highest expression of pure Love and awareness of the One rather than his shadow expression- illusion, delusion and deception.  everything works out for the Soul's growth in the end, so if you choose the latter it will eventually bring you somewhere.  but if you can make a conscious choice, why not do it?

the day ends with a new moon in aquarius occurring at 6:51pm.  new moons are the start of a new moon cycle.  they symbolize beginnings, initiations and forward movement.  this new moon is quite potent as venus, neptune and chiron are all aligned with the sun and moon- bringing the goddess of Love and beauty, the planet of spirituality and mysticism, and the wounded healer all into alignment with the conscious self and the unconscious (sol and luna).  massive new beginnings can be undertaken this week in areas of life where aquarius falls in your chart (see your horoscopes for more info).  the neptune/chiron conjunction that has been building up all last year (2009) is exact on tuesday february 16th and this new moon kicks it off.  for more on the new moon see my new moon blog that will be posted by tuesday.

the day starts off with venus in pisces quincunx retrograde saturn in libra, creating tension between the goddess of love and beauty and the god of structure, discipline and maturity.  saturn is in the sign venus rules, so there is an affinity between these two despite the tense aspect.  venus in pisces is the ultimate romantic.  fantasy, bliss, ecstasy and dreams are venus' in pisces playground.  saturn is quite opposite of all that though.  saturn is about reality and pragmatism.  he is interested in what is rather than what can be.  with saturn in libra lessons about reality are coming via our relationships.  learning boundaries, compromise and commitment in love is saturn's current m.o.  with dreamy venus in tense aspect to realistic saturn there can be tension felt between the desire to merge with the Divine and the need for having your feet firmly planted on the ground.  this aspect on valentine's day can play out in different ways for lovers- as well as for those in relationship with their Self.  we can either channel saturn's reality into our relationships and look to the structural foundation of those connections to make sure they are healthy, sound and right for us.  or we can experience disharmony between what we dream of and what we are living.  if the latter is the case this aspect can bring you back down to reality with a thump.  either way the point is to hold the tension of the opposites.  where ever you are holding too tightly to one end, the other will come back with a passion in true enantiodromia fashion (a depth psychological term symbolizing how when one thing goes too far in one direction it has to come back equally as far in the other in order to find balance).  take the best of venus in pisces and saturn in libra and take your blissful Love for self and others and ground it in reality.  from there you can build your future. 

at 8:38am venus in pisces quincunxes retrograde mars in leo, creating dynamism and tension between the Divine Lovers.  any aspect between these two can generate fireworks- the amazing kind or the not so great kind.  it is when Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine meet that self encounters other and either finds harmony or discord.  the quincunx is a tense aspect so discord can arise, but it is possible to channel that inner tension into creativity, sexuality or some other form of energy expression.  all energy is just energy- it is how we use it and express it that makes the difference between Love and Fear.  venus in pisces is unconditionally loving, dreamy and romantic.  mars in leo is typically firey, self-confident and passionate but he is retrograde so his dynamic self-expression is reigned in.  pisces is the sign of boundary dissolution and leo is the sign of ego.  these two are opposite yet they can teach each other much.  if leo can learn to release ego and think of the other before the self, and if pisces can embody and define herself and learn to love herself as much as she loves the other- these two can become complete in themselves.  from that place of completion within their connection without is no longer based on need or want, but is based in presence and wholeness.  where your inner yin or yang is out of balance this aspect can activate it.  but it can also help you see where to put effort so you can find the peace within.  this can be mirrored in relationships without as well.  where there is conflict see the reflection that is coming back to you and own it.  then guide the energy into a more useful enlightened channel and consciously create your lived experience. 

at 12:13pm mercury in aquarius semisextiles jupiter in pisces, aligning the conscious mind and intellect with the higher mind and greater benefic.  this contact highlights the last two signs of the zodiac- aquarius and pisces- connecting the mind and heart (air and water), spirit and soul, and the All with the One.  conversations and communications are expansive, illuminating, and growth oriented.  friendship and love and in sync and are able to be expressed fully! 

the sun cojoins chiron at 1:26pm bringing the conscious self and ego into alignment with the wounded healer.  last weekend venus (the heart) made this contact and today it's the ego's turn (sun).  being aware of our wounds and taking conscious steps to heal them and release them is the highlight of the day.  chiron is the healer and the shaman- and in alignment with the sun we are given the opportunity to go deep into our soul and retrieve that which was left behind in childhood or a past life.  deep work is possible today!  where you are not acknowledging where you have wounds you can feel them powerfully activated today.  don't shoot the messenger!  you only feel the wound if you have the receptor for the pain within.  the person who activates that pain has their own pain.  perpetuating pain with pain does nothing good.  choose to get off the merry go round and take responsibility for yourself and you can change your reality. 

at 3:18 the sun cojoins neptune, echoing the sun/neptune parallel we had yesterday.  the sun is the ego and neptune dissolves ego boundaries.  this aspect is all about bliss and union with the Divine, but it's shadow manifestations can also surface- deception, illusion, and confusion.  taking time to commune with Spirit is highly recommended, by lay off the spirits and drugs.  addictions are defense mechanisms for people who are incredibly sensitive and don't know how to deal with their sensitivity.  there is a way to learn how to deal with it and actually thrive with it.  the more sensitive you are the more you feel, and the more you feel the more alive you are.  take time to go into your sensitivity, merge with the Divine and feel the Love!  just don't get lost in there.  you have to come back to reality at some point.  you are in the body for a reason ;)

the day ends with venus in pisces sextile to pluto in capricorn, exact at 11:16pm.  the Divine Feminine and Goddess of Love and beauty gets intimate with the lord of the underworld.  pluto takes venus' love and beauty and brings them into deep, intense, passionate waters.  the highs of venus/pluto are ecstatic passion, intimacy and soul connection with another and with the Self.  the lows of venus/pluto are obsession, possession and power/control dynamics.  this aspect is harmonious so it is more likely that the former will arise than the latter, but if really depends on how you work with the energy present tonight.  venus in pisces is capable of attaining the absolute heights of bliss with the Divine, the beloved and the Self.  pluto takes her capacity to go to the absolute heights and matches that with the capacity to go the absolute depths.  depth does not mean bad- it means deep.  both transpersonal and depth perspectives are important in life- just as both Spirit and Soul are part of this human journey.  tonight go high and go deep and find the One.  the One is within, not without.  if you happen to have one without make sure you thank them for being a reflection of your within.  it's all Source, but we often forget that.
