It's Never Too Late to Apologize

I have been working with a friend of mine on amends and clearing old resentments, anger, and guilt. As the Fairies say "Guilt, resentment, and anger hold us in the past. You must let go of them to move forward." That is the true definition of an apology. It is not just saying I'm sorry. I think too often people see it as a way to beat themselves up about what they did or to continue to blame others. It is like they hold the apology as someone admitting they did wrong and now the punishment can begin, either to themselves or with others. An apology is opening the door to healing. An apology is an act of surrender. An apology is an act of forgiveness. Are you seeing the sacredness in this act? It is releasing a burden that you no longer wish to carry. You take responsibility for your actions and forgive the other person of any wrongs you think have been done to you. Then the true amends happen. When you make amends you are now acknowledging your behavior or choices that lead to the problem. Now you will act with that knowing. Now you will be aware of that in yourself and make different choices. That is the empowerment.

Too often surrender and apologies are seen as giving up or giving in. I find that our society has a belief that fighting and struggling are how you move forward. It is really in letting go that we do. Stop fighting "Your Way" up a stream with a heavy backpack full of past emotions, clinging to the roots and branches that you think will save you from the unknown. Let go of the roots, take off the backpack and see where that stream leads you. Then you can use your arms and legs to steer you and your eyes to guide you. You just have to shift your focus. Who knows, you might even enjoy it!

Evolve Vision

evolve_visionImagine a world where money was no longer the means of exchange of services but rather love and enthusiasm as its primary exchange. A world full of love and so much diversity that each individual’s enthusiasm became the driving force behind one’s life work and one’s life work was as distinctive as one’s own fingerprint. A world where every job and every service had its own caretaker that performed its tasks with so much love and care they freely wanted to giveaway these services. Tell me? What would this world look like? A world of harmony and service where all needs were met and provided by someone that was just as equally grateful to give as well as they were ready to receive. A world of haves without the not’s. A world of abundance without the lack. A world of love without the suffering. Can you imagine this?
